Sustainable lime-burning technology for steelworks
Maerz Ofenbau AG is developing a new generation of lime kilns to help achieve global climate targets. The kilns’ operating mode can be flexibly adapted to environmental requirements – they can be operated both conventionally and in oxyfuel mode. In oxyfuel mode, CO₂ concentrations in the kiln flue gas of 90 to 95 per cent can be achieved, allowing a cost-effective CCUS system to be implemented downstream.
